Anne’s Song

“Brava!” he shouted. “Brava, my Anne!”

From on top of the moss-covered boulder, his youngest daughter – his sweet little songbird – looks to him and smiles, blooming like a rose under his praise.

“Please, my darling.” He smiles at her in encouragement. “Sing for me! Lighten your old papa’s heart with your melody.”

This song was sung by Anne after a disastrous event took place. It is her first and last dark song.

Bitter Wine

Why can’t you see

The monster you made of me?

Used to be so nice and sweet

Now that is gone from me

Ripped away from your sorry mistake

I cannot find the innocence you took from me

My heart turns to claws when you’re watching me

#

That sweetness that was once mine

Became a bitter wine

I cannot hide that fact that I have lost my mind

You took my gentleness

And ripped it from my skin

Now my patience has become oh so paper thin

#

Why can’t you see

The monster you made of me?

Used to be so nice and sweet

Now that is gone from me

#

My nails cutting in your skin

Became my favorite sin

I claw at your smirk letting the beast unleash in me

The moons shining above

Makes my heart beatless of sound

#

Ripped away from your sorry mistake

I cannot find the innocence you took from me

My heart turns to claws when you’re watching me

#

Why can’t you see

The monster you made of me?

Used to be so nice and sweet

Now that is gone from me

#

Ripped away from your sorry mistake

I cannot find my innocence you took from me

My heart turns to claws when you watching me

#

Why can’t you see

The monster you made of me?

Used to be so nice and sweet

Now that is gone from me

#

You ask me why I never cry

Why my tears are always dry

I just look at you

I just look at you

Wondering if your words were ever true

Walking away I left you my soul to take

Rest my head and hope to never wake

#
